Front-end and UX positions

As a budding Front-end designer, I am learning the different skills for the roles of Project Manager, User Experience (UX), Web Designer, Front-end Developer, Quality Assurance, and Content Manager/Editor. Having worked on projects for these various positions, I am strongly inclined to apply for User Experience Positions and Project Manager positions. The former is stronger than the latter. Based on my skill set, experience, and drive, I am more suited to a position in User Experience. I am personable and can foster and develop harmonious working relationships. I have created community center campaigns, content, and movements while maintaining communications and relating feedback and reports. I am confident in both facilitating and pitching. I have a creative inclination and analytical process.

In researching UX jobs in the market, the position that I will be applying to is U.S. UI/UX Designer, Zoic Labs – Zoic Studios a self-described owner-operated technology company, with a focus on providing an excellent experience for our users, clients, and employees. In the job post, “Design and champion engaging user interfaces for a variety of clients, ensuring our users have the best possible experience on our platforms” are strong skills of mine.

“Work in collaboration with leadership, product managers, engineers, and other designers

Strong sensibility in taking conceptual wireframes to a high fidelity, intuitive final comp.” These are new skills that I feel very confident in performing. Wireframes are intuitive. “Develop high-quality UI/UX designs, prototypes, and design assets that effectively communicate design concepts. Conduct user research and usability testing to identify and address pain points and improve experience for users” These are all skills I can successfully demonstrate. Where I feel I lack is in my skills and experience in Adobe XD, Illustrator, Photoshop, Zeplin, and Jira. While I do have experience in the Adobe suite, I do not feel confident in using it. I feel like a course will be beneficial. As for Zeplin I sign-up for it and will be doing some research and practice on it. From my initial research, it is an application for UX designers to hand over work to developers. Spec are programs specific to the type of system or software the team is working on. As for JIRA I understand it’s project management software. I will have to experiment with it more to get an understanding as to why it is used as opposed to the other software in the market.
