About

Areli Morales

bi-national, bilingual, multimedia creative

I am a natural problem solver, consistently brainstorming creative ways to engage and create lasting impacts. I spent a decade working and volunteering for environmental non-profits, advocating for green space, active transportation, and environmental justice. Working with multi-level agencies, community organizations, and grassroots organizations. I was part of indigenous community-based language rescue programs and storytelling initiatives in my ancestral home of Oaxaca, Mexico. My experience in various parts of the world has opened my mind and creativity to various challenges and outlooks.

As I am pivoting into new skills, informed by my past experiences, I am most excited about the technologies’ reach, the capacity to communicate and connect with various communities without a physical presence. In my focus on UX (user experience) and design, I am excited to create intuitive websites and apps to close technology gaps. I pull from my parents’ struggle with technology the fears and frustrations that limit their abilities to thrive in this technology-forward world.
